Jersey Samaritans is looking for Support Volunteers to manage our IT systems. 

Our service is available to anyone in need of emotional support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and whilst we may be best known for listening, the smooth running of branches depends on a whole host of activities including fundraising, IT & web design, maintenance, outreach, publicity, social media, treasurer… and more!

We are therefore looking to recruit someone who, instead of listening to callers, will support our local Branch’s IT needs.

In the first instance this will involve:

  • Overseeing hardware and software
  • Keeping a detailed log of issues that occur and subsequent solutions to enable continuity
  • Keeping an up to date inventory of all IT equipment in branch
  • Re-setting user passwords and usernames as necessary
  • Purchasing and replacing new equipment as necessary
  • Liaising with Branch Director and other key stakeholders
  • Providing regular reports on branch IT developments to the Branch Leadership Team
