The new role of Research & Insights Officer is a key function in the organisation which has cross-departmental responsibility for informing effective policy making.

The position is ideal for a recent graduate with an economics, technology or policy background. We need someone with a strong eye for detail and the ability to juggle a busy/varied workload to tight deadlines. A key function of the strategy team is to provide objective and data-driven advice that guides Digital Jersey activity. The Research & Insights Officer will be actively involved in supporting this. For this reason, we need someone who can demonstrate knowledge of, and an interest in, the digital sector, the key issues it faces, and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly.

This role has exposure to a wide variety of stakeholders, policy areas and research approaches with the opportunity to carve out new and exciting projects.  


This role is heavily focused on providing support and insights to the Strategy Manager and broader Digital Jersey team to guide the organisation’s initiatives that support the Jersey economy.   The position holder will be encouraged to think creatively when applying different research approaches that support specific insights objectives. This includes supporting the Strategy Manager in coordinating with stakeholders and consultants.

The Research & Insights Officer will be a key player in the Digital Jersey team and expected to contribute to planning and strategy meetings. Similar expectations apply when working with Digital Jersey partners, such as Jersey Business, Jersey Finance, Government, and industry members.  This is a varied role with a great deal of autonomy and would suit someone with a creative, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial mindset.



  • Interpret quantitative and qualitative data
  • Support the delivery of our Digital Economy strategy 
  • Contribute to key government and industry working groups
  • Support end-to-end project life cycle: scoping briefs, working through timelines and costings, research design, quality control, and liaising with other team members
  • Help to articulate a narrative for Digital Jersey research through insight-led stories
  • Support the Strategy manager in delivering operational business plan objectives.


  • Good presentational, written, interpersonal skills

  • Ability to analyse problems/issues, identifying patterns and recommending solutions

  • Good organisational skills as well as the ability to multi-task and work towards multiple deadlines.
