We are seeking a motivated and sales orientated Retail Adviser to join our growing team in our Airtel-Vodafone Store in Jersey. In this role, you will interact directly with customers, understand their needs, build trust and create a personal experience to be remembered. You will also do your utmost to help resolve any issues a customer may have, right there, right then.

Position title: Retail Service Advisor – Jersey

  • Purpose of role: The position holds the day-to-day responsibility for maximising sales growth and enhancing customer experience.
  • Location: St Helier, Jersey
  • Normal hours: 40 hours per week across 5 days Monday to Saturday between the hours of 08.30 and 18.00
  • Reports to: Showroom Assistant Manager & Showroom Manager
  • Direct reports: None
  • Key internal relationships: Customer Services and Technology Department
  • Key external relationships: Members of the public

Key result areas

Performance and progress in the following areas will be a priority for the Retail Service Advisor. The level of achievement within these areas will be the basis for performance measurement.

  • Greet customers warmly and ascertain their needs. Provide knowledgeable assistance and information regarding products and services.
  • Drive sales by actively promoting and selling mobile devices, accessories, and service plans. Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective upselling and cross-selling.
  • To maintain a high standard of shop ambience display, both in window and inside the shop. To ensure shop is clean and tidy at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels. Ensure the sales floor is well-stocked and organised. All merchandise should be clearly ticketed and priced.
  • Should be fully up to date with customer interface processes such as billing, payments, complaint management, customer relationship, documentation compliance and completion.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest mobile devices, plans, and promotions. Attend training sessions to stay informed about new products and services.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and efficient manner. Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to mobile devices and services.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system. Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods securely.
  • Keep records of customer interactions, sales, and transactions. Update customer information in the database as needed.

Education & experience

The Service Advisor will possess the following qualifications and levels of experience:

  • Previous experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in the service industry.
  • A warm, enthusiastic and empathetic sales person with excellent listening skills.
  • An understanding or interest in telecommunications voice and data products and their relevance to the consumer market.
  • Self–confident with a high level of inter-personal skills with the ability to sell technology products.
  • Must be highly result oriented with strong customer service.
  • A self starter with a “can do” attitude, a natural sales person, comfortable in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to influence and persuade others through communication.
  • Must be a team player, but also able to work on own initiative.
