We’re looking for a Solutions Architect to oversee our development team in the delivery and deployment of leading RegTech solutions that build upon 25-years of experience in the outsourced communications and data management space. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science, as well as several years of experience with enterprise software delivery. We prefer candidates who have spent some of this time in a leadership position. In this role you will manage internal and external software development teams, oversee each aspect of the development process, and act as the liaison between your team and upper management.  You will also have responsibility for client deployments and ongoing technical engagement.Vaiie hire team players with a broad set of technical skills motivated in tackling some of the greatest challenges to the financial services sector and technology industry.Day to day work is varied, challenging and fast-paced amidst a hardworking and delivery focused company culture. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in an agile environment, design, develop and build high quality technology products that delight our customers
  • Work with business stakeholders to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software systems 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to our teams to ensure implementation adheres to the architectural roadmap
  • Manage technical relationships across partner network and customer base
  • Maintain a strong, hands-on working knowledge of a wide set of frameworks, supporting and working with other software engineers on complex problems 
  • Mentor team members on architectural best practice and patterns, development techniques, principles and processes 
  • Lead customer facing technical discussions and support the preparation of proposals, statements of work and specifications
  • Monitor change requests and prevent unapproved requirement modifications that result in scope creep
  • Working with commercial and technical teams to define the product vision and adjusting roadmap as needed to account for changes in business goals
  • Running regular team meetings to check in on statuses of ongoing projects and adjust timelines accordingly
  • Presenting regular reports to key stakeholders and management, measuring team progress against targeted KPI’s

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Self motivated leader with strong technical credentials 
  • Ideally experience working in a Financial Services focussed FinTech firm 
  • Experience and validated leadership in architecting sophisticated software systems and cloud-native solutions
  • Understanding of agile practices and ability to enforce them in variable team settings  
  • Have strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience in the management of enterprise software implementation projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including development, engineering and deployment
  • Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other demanding engineering degree
  • Understanding of common IDEs, such as Visual Studio or PHPstorm, Git processes, Databases, API Services, and service-oriented architecture
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following technologies or languages would be desirable: .NET CORE, PHP, REACT, ANGULAR
