The Role:

Legend is hiring a Tax Manager, reporting directly to our Finance Director who is located in St Helier, Jersey. This is a great opportunity to shape and lead the tax function within a fast-paced, high-growth organization at the cutting edge of its industry.

As a key partner to cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, M&A, and Operations, you will have the autonomy to drive impactful tax strategies, optimize compliance processes, and contribute directly to the company’s continued expansion and operational success. You’ll be empowered to influence strategic decisions, and shape tax policies that support the company’s long-term growth trajectory.

Your Impact:

  • Design and Implement Tax Strategies: Proactively create and execute a robust tax strategy that optimizes financial performance while minimizing risks, helping fuel growth opportunities
  • Streamline Tax Compliance: Oversee tax reporting and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filings while creating efficient processes to reduce administrative bottlenecks.
  • Advise on Business Decisions: Act as a trusted adviser to business leaders, integrating tax considerations into key decisions and ensuring that risks are proactively managed.
  • Support M&A Transactions: Play a key role in structuring tax-efficient acquisitions and integrations, contributing to the company’s expansion and long-term value creation.
  • Enhance Tax Awareness: Build strong relationships across teams to ensure tax considerations are embedded in day-to-day operations and business decisions
  • Innovate Tax Risk Management: Identify and implement innovative solutions to manage or reduce tax risks, keeping the company ahead of regulatory changes and international tax initiatives

What You’ll Bring:

  • ACA/CTA Qualification: You’ll be ACA/CTA-qualified, ideally with experience at manager level within a Top 10 practice, ensuring you bring solid technical expertise
  • In-House Corporate Tax Experience: At least two years of in-house corporate tax experience, ideally in a global organization, with the ability to design and implement effective tax strategies
  • Strong Cross-Functional Partnering: Proven ability to build strong relationships across Finance, Legal, M&A, and Operations, ensuring tax considerations are integrated into business decision-making
  • Tax Strategy Expertise: Experience in designing and executing tax planning strategies that balance risk and reward, particularly in dynamic, fast-paced business environments
  • Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to simplify complex tax concepts for non-financial stakeholders, ensuring everyone across the organization is aligned
  • Project Management and Prioritization: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and drive initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The Interview Process:

  • 1st: Initial Chat with Talent Partner (30 mins via Zoom)
  • 2nd: Interview with our Finance Director and Senior People Partner (1 hour video via Zoom)
  • 3rd: Take home task – you will be given 3 days to complete the task and present it back to the team, Finance Director and Head of Legal (Hiring Manager) (1 hour video via Zoom)
  • 4th: Final interview with our Executive Director (1 hour video via Zoom)
