Test Analyst – MasonBreese

MasonBreese is a consultancy practice providing Change professionals ranging from graduate/entry-level to senior, seasoned professionals. We are a Jersey-based business rooted in the Jersey community. We are a team of over 50 experienced consultants who are dedicated to delivering creative change solutions that help our clients achieve their business development goals. We work across a range of change projects, IT implementations, development programmes, migration, mergers & acquisitions in a variety of industries across our MB People, MB Digital and MB Change services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, with excellent analytical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions. A solid knowledge of SQL, Java script, python and test automation tools will be extremely beneficial to this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications.
2. Execute test cases and document test results, ensuring that all defects are properly tracked, reported, and resolved.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, reproduce, and troubleshoot defects, ensuring their timely resolution.
4. Perform functional, regression, performance, and usability testing to ensure quality standards and user expectations are achieved.
5. Develop and maintain test scripts using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks.
6. Continuously improve and streamline the testing process to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Participate in project meetings, providing insights and recommendations regarding the quality and testability of software.
8. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of test environments, test data, and test infrastructure.
9. Stay up to date with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and trends, and share knowledge with the team.
10. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of the desired outcomes.
11. Provide accurate and timely status updates on test progress, test coverage, and any potential risks or issues.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Test Analyst or similar role.
2. Strong understanding of testing principles, methodologies, and best practices incorporating SIT (System Integration Testing), UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and Regression scenarios.
3. Proficient in test planning, test design, and test execution, with the ability to create comprehensive test cases and scripts.
4. Experience with Java script, python, and an understanding of test automation or similar would be advantageous.
5. Solid knowledge of SQL and the ability to write complex database queries for testing purposes.
6. Exposure to various project methodologies for example Agile, Waterfall and Prince2 would be beneficial.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot issues.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
9. ISTQB or other relevant certifications are a plus.
