MyVLF is the first global virtual literary festival and has been designed and created in Jersey. It is a totally unique website.
MyVLF.com isn't a pure virtual reality experience, as its target members aren't yet ready for this technology. Instead, it combines a virtual event space with an easy to navigate 2D site to create an online experience connecting readers and authors.
It is completely free to join and has attracted authors and readers from across the world.
There are regular book festivals in the unique theatre space, publisher stands in the exhibition hall and a virtual book club. The idea is to make literary/book festivals accessible to all.
The concept was developed by three Jersey authors, Gwyn GB, Deborah Carr, and Kelly Clayton, who employed Snap.je and Virtex Studios, to bring it to life. It has benefitted from the Digital Jersey marketing course and the Digital Leadership programme.
Within months of launching the site was chosen as a finalist in the 2019 Digital Book World Awards, Best Publishing Technology category.
