We are delighted to announce that Andreas Stadler, “MetaMind” a generalist, maker and technology visionary is confirmed as guest speaker, alongside Graham Daldry, Creative Director of Specsavers.

Graham Daldry

Graham is the Creative Director at Specsavers and the creator of the iconic Specsavers strapline, “Should’ve gone to Specsavers” and has been responsible for the UK’s longest-lived advertising campaign since its inception in 2002.

Andreas Stadler, MetaMind

Metamind is a generalist, maker and technology visionary. Working in San Francisco and Berlin, blending science, technology, and art, he has helped to shape the ‘citizenscience’ scene and actively mentors individuals in the start-up/accelerator systems.

With the rise of the maker culture, this bright-eyed inventor has been instrumental in promoting citizen science at community hacker spaces, including Noisebridge in San Fransisco and c-base in Berlin. He has helped to shape the horizon of project-based teaching and DIY applied education.

MetaMind’s fresh approach blends science, technology and art by designing and building innovative, open-source brain-computer-interfaces. He inspires to spread fascination about science and innovations in new technology.

His talk will cover his take on current and recent trends in upcoming technologies and he will touch on the latest generation of innovative open-source bio signal brain-computer-interface Open-BCI software and hardware that he is currently involved in creating. He will motivate, inspire, and facilitate ideas, as well as creative ways to realise and achieve them.

MetaMind will run a highly interactive multi-media talk and workshop and will demo a "neuroheadset" that he regularly uses at festivals and conferences, He will also bring a few Arduinos and blinky lights, for people wanting to learn to solder or program microcontrollers.

There will be an opportunity in the workshop for participants to build the basics for a “neuroheadset” and then order an electronics board to go with it at a later time.

MetaMind will conduct a highly interactive multi-media format involving participants to the maximum.

workshop – building a brain-interface-kit

If you are interested in building a brain-interface-kit at one of the Unconference workshops with MetaMind then please bring in any spare headphones, audio-cables, hair-rings and tools like soldering irons and pliers so you can build the "neuroheadset" parts at the workshops.
