A new Island lottery has launched that gives Jersey residents the chance to win a jackpot of up to £100,000 every month plus a host of other prizes, whilst raising funds for local good causes.
The lottery, Islands Lotto, developed by Indigo Code Collective for Twelve-40, is a completely new and independently run lotto-style online lottery that is unlike anything that has been available to Island residents before.
The “Jackpot 6” is a lotto draw, much like the UK’s National Lottery, where players choose six numbers to play from a pool of 36. Depending on how many of your numbers come up players can win prizes from a Free Instant Win Play up to £100,000. Second prize is up to £20,000.
Islands Lotto has also launched a range of five online Instant Win Games, which much like traditional scratchcards deliver top prizes from £1,000 to £75,000.
Islands Lotto Limited is licensed by the Jersey Gambling Commission and all draws are independently adjudicated and verified by auditors.
At least 15% of all ticket sales will go to good causes in the Island. Proceeds will be channelled into the newly created Islands Foundation, which is overseen by an independent panel who will consider and approve applications for funding from local community groups to support Island projects and initiatives that meet the funding criteria. These include organisations, institutions, or individuals for scientific, educational, cultural, sporting or other charitable purposes.
The Lotto and Instant Win Games can only be accessed online at www.islandslotto.com using a mobile phone, tablet or computer. A number of safeguards are built in to ensure that only Island residents of legal age, 18 years or over, are able to play.
