Senior Network Consultant – SystemLabs

Overview

We require a well-rounded network engineer with a strong focus on enterprise network skills to assist with the growth of our managed services division.

The chosen candidate will be a driven and dynamic individual passionate about applying technology within our customers’ environments. We value skills, experience and attitude over certifications. This role is a split between back-office technical work and customer-facing consultancy.

About the role

SystemLabs has a unique offering on the Island. We offer Software Development and IT Infrastructure, supporting both public-facing web applications and traditional corporate networks, providing an opportunity to work with a broad range of clients.

As a Senior Network Consultant, you will troubleshoot production network issues, design/build new network environments, triage tickets, perform IT audits, and assist with IT strategy and implementation for our clients. Although the chosen candidate will be primarily a network engineer, the role requires the ability and willingness to help with our broader IT activities.

Responsibilities will include

• Assisting with technical pre-sales activities (client meetings, project scoping, IT audits).
• Responsible for project technical implementation.
• Accountable for overseeing tickets to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for 3rd-line troubleshooting.
• Required to contribute to service and process & tool improvement.
• Reporting to the Head of Networks and Security

Skills

• A calm, sociable and fun individual
• Willing to share knowledge & bold in getting stuck in
• Self-motivated and can hit the ground running, but also work well in a team
• Solid understanding of networks (switching, routing, wireless, and firewalling)
• Solid understanding of the core network services and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, VPNs, HTTP, DNS)
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Aruba network devices and the ability to pick up new devices quickly. Training will be provided as required
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure-based corporate infrastructure services such as InTune, Azure AD and O365
• Solid knowledge of Cyber Security and associated technical risk mitigation.
• Good operational awareness
• Linux knowledge is a plus
