Artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities for island innovation, and last weekend’s AI Hackathon proved how quickly ideas can turn into solutions. More than 60 people came together at the Digital Jersey Hub to tackle real Jersey challenges using AI.

A new multi-stakeholder body has been established to bring together the expertise of industry, public sector and regulatory bodies and support the effective adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in Jersey.

We celebrated the island’s top digital talent at the 7th Annual Jersey TechAwards, supported by headline sponsor EWG. From AI and fintech to community impact, this year’s winners showed how innovation is driving Jersey forward.

Digital Jersey is pleased to award a new grant through the Impact Jersey ‘CareTech Challenge’ to Family Nursing and Home Care (FNHC). The funding will support the rollout of a digital monitoring system to reduce frailty and falls in year one, and expand in year two to tackle wound care and diabetes management, helping to prevent hospital admissions among Jersey’s elderly population.

The States of Jersey Police (SOJP) have begun a 12-month trial of a connection to Kulpa’s secure digital evidence platform, developed by the Jersey-based tech company, Kulpa Platforms Ltd. The initiative is jointly supported and funded by Kulpa and Digital Jersey.

More young people from across Jersey schools are being given the opportunity to design, build and race their very own small-scale F1 car as part of the STEM Racing initiative (formerly F1 in Schools), which this year has been extended to include primary-aged pupils. The initiative this year is sponsored by technology firm C5 Alliance.
