Last week Digital Jersey welcomed Senator Ian Gorst to meet the Coding Programme Students. Now, four weeks into their programme, we asked the students how they were getting along and their experience to date.
Here is what some of the students had to say:
“The support to date has been incredible, through the Hub and online, which makes the goals seem more attainable and you don’t get demoralised.”
“The experience so far has been insightful, you learn so much and the industry connections gained have been amazing.”
“It’s great to meet other people who share the same passion, both the mentors and fellow students, where you can bounce off each other and support each other through the programme.”
“The programme is flexible to fit around my working hours and I have been able to apply what I have learnt on the programme to my current role.”
Tom Hacquoil, the Programme Technical Expert, comments on the students’ progress so far, “It’s really encouraging to see how well the students are progressing and I look forward to seeing them work on their group projects in the coming weeks."
Next month will see the students undergo an industry tour in Jersey. They will get the opportunity to meet six Digital Companies and gain a greater understanding into what they do, what they look for in employees and informed about any current vacancies. If your business would like to get involved in the tour, please register your interest with Rebecca Elliott by 26th August 2014.
