Digital Jersey promoted the island as a technology testbed at the “IN Normandy Tech Conference”, held on 31st of May in Deauville.

The “IN Normany Tech Conference” is the most important event for French businesses and communities regarding innovation and the digital sector, with more than 250 companies participating in workshops and conferences organised over two days.

Tony Moretta, CEO of Digital Jersey said: “This was a good opportunity to start a conversation with some of France’s key digital start-ups and established companies. There are many benefits to considering Jersey as a place to develop a tech business, or to partner with some of our first-class local firms; all of which contributes to jobs and growth in our digital sector.”

Discussions also took place with the promotional body Normandy French Tech, about developing closer links with the region’s fintech, smart city and digital health businesses.

Audrey Lescot, Digital Jersey’s Policy Officer said “I really enjoyed meeting such enthusiastic and innovative entrepreneurs. I hope we can build stronger relationships with French Tech companies as I’m sure we can both learn from one another”.

More initiatives are already planned to follow later this year; in September, a French digital business delegation, represented by the Manche Fab Lab, will attend events in Jersey taking place during the Coding Week.
