Artificial intelligence is already changing how organisations work. Across Jersey, businesses, public services, and regulators are exploring how AI can improve productivity, decision making, and service delivery.
At Digital Jersey, we work with partners across the island to support responsible and practical AI adoption. Our role is to bring organisations together, share knowledge, and help businesses understand how AI can support their work.
Through training, industry collaboration, and initiatives such as the Jersey AI Council and the Jersey AI Playbook, we are helping Jersey take a coordinated approach to AI.

AI activity in Jersey is growing across businesses, public services, regulators, and the wider technology community.
Organisations across the island are already exploring how AI can improve productivity, services, and decision making. This includes activity from financial services firms, technology companies, government departments, and regulators.
Jersey’s strength is its ability to bring these groups together and share knowledge across sectors. This collaborative approach helps organisations learn from each other and adopt AI responsibly.
The Jersey AI Council, chaired by Digital Jersey, brings together industry, government, and regulators to support a joined-up approach to AI adoption across the island.
The council focuses on:
Council members include Digital Jersey, Government of Jersey, Jersey Finance, the Jersey Financial Services Commission, the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner, the Institute of Directors Jersey, and the Jersey AI Forum.

The Jersey AI Playbook sets out a shared vision for how artificial intelligence can support Jersey’s future economy. Developed with partners across industry, government and regulators, it brings together the island’s collective thinking on how AI can be adopted responsibly and effectively.
Rather than creating a fixed strategy, the playbook provides guiding principles to support organisations as AI technology continues to develop. It focuses on areas such as responsible adoption, workforce skills, productivity, and collaboration across sectors.
By aligning organisations around common goals, the playbook helps ensure Jersey can adopt AI in a way that supports innovation while maintaining trust and strong governance.

Across Jersey, organisations are exploring how artificial intelligence can support productivity, services, and innovation. Digital Jersey works with partners across the island to bring people together, test new ideas, and support practical AI adoption.

Our AI Hackathon brings together developers, entrepreneurs, students and businesses to build solutions to real challenges facing Jersey. At the most recent event, more than 60 participants across 20 teams created AI prototypes in just 48 hours, exploring areas such as health services, supply chains and business tools.
Keep an eye out for the next AI Hackathon.

At the Digital Jersey Annual Review, industry leaders highlighted the growing importance of AI for Jersey’s future economy. Digital Jersey confirmed that accelerating AI adoption will be a key focus for 2026, including new AI leadership programmes, insight sessions and partnerships designed to help organisations across the island adopt AI and build future skills.

The Jersey TechAwards celebrate innovation across Jersey’s digital sector. One category recognises the most impactful use of artificial intelligence, highlighting organisations and individuals using AI to improve services, develop new products and solve real problems. Nominations are open each year for businesses and innovators across the island.

Jersey could expand its workforce without increasing its population by using artificial intelligence “synthetic workers,” according to Digital Jersey CEO Tony Moretta. Speaking at Digital Jersey’s Annual Review, he said AI agents could automate tasks, helping businesses handle more work and improve productivity, particularly in sectors such as financial services. Experts also highlighted how AI could support industries like agriculture, tourism and medicine, while stressing that people would still be needed to work alongside the technology and develop new digital skills.

Economists say artificial intelligence could help boost Jersey’s economy if more funding is invested in digital technology, skills and innovation. Speaking at Digital Jersey’s Annual Review, economist James Linder said AI could unlock productivity growth and support businesses in both the public and private sectors. Government representatives also said AI would play an important role in Jersey’s future, but stressed the need to adopt the technology carefully while managing potential risks to employment and ensuring workers develop the skills needed to adapt.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming how businesses, governments and schools operate, and experts say Jersey must prepare to take advantage of its potential. AI specialist Katie King said AI knowledge is now as essential as digital literacy once was, helping organisations stay competitive, improve productivity and prepare young people for future jobs. She also highlighted how the Jersey AI Council can support responsible adoption by focusing on practical uses, developing skills and ensuring safeguards such as data protection and human oversight are in place.
