From AI and fintech to climate tech and health innovation, these ambitious startups are taking their ideas to one of Europe’s leading startup events to connect with investors, partners and customers from around the world.

Simon Franc - CEO and Founder of Kulpa

Simon Franc is often referred to as a social-justice entrepreneur, now best known as the founder and CEO of the tech company Kulpa, a digital evidence platform designed to help victims and witnesses securely capture, store, and share legally compliant digital evidence with police, legal professionals and other organisations.

An entrepreneur with a proven track record, Simon founded his first company in 2010. That company, Forensic Equity, is now one of the UK’s largest, fully independent, full-spectrum forensic science service providers.

Simon’s varied background also extends to finance. Between 2008 and 2014 he held positions first as a Foreign Exchange Broker and then, subsequently, in the investment banking division of the Royal Bank of Scotland (Debt Capital Markets)

Gus Fraser - Chief AI Officer at Staynex

Gus Fraser is Chief AI Officer at Staynex, a Singapore-founded AI-powered travel group chaired by Jeff Hoffman (co-founder of Priceline/Booking.com).

He joined following Staynex’s acquisition of Helix, the AI-native corporate travel platform he founded, and now leads AI product and the group’s shift to an AI-native operating model.

Stuart Richford - CEO and Co-Founder of Optifi

Stuart Richford is CEO and Co-Founder of Optifi, a technology platform modernising trust, corporate and family office operations through workflow orchestration, data integration, KPI insight and AI-enabled operational control.

He brings more than 30 years’ experience across private equity, fund administration, trust services, banking and business transformation. Stuart has led large-scale restructures, post-acquisition integrations, regulatory change programmes and technology-enabled operating model transformations for major financial services firms.

He previously co-founded and exited Knadel, held senior leadership roles at Sionic and BDO, and is Managing Director of MasonBreese in Jersey. At Optifi, Stuart is focused on building a scalable, enterprise-grade platform that helps regulated firms reduce operational friction, improve oversight and unlock measurable efficiency.

George McLeod - Founder & CEO of Generational

George McLeod is Founder & CEO of Generational, a Jersey-regulated digital trust company making professional trust services accessible to a broader family market. He has held strategy, product, growth, and go-to-market roles across Barclays, HSBC, Monzo, American Express, and Episode Six.

Generational combines trustee services, regulated oversight, and AI-enabled operational workflows to support the creation and ongoing administration of trusts more efficiently. Generational is building a more transparent and cost-efficient model for mass-affluent, high-net-worth, and ultra-high-net-worth families.

Paul Acton - Founder & Executive Director of VMease

Paul Acton is a technology entrepreneur and business leader with more than 25 years’ experience helping organisations reimagine how they use technology, cloud, and digital infrastructure.

He is the Founder & Director of VMease, a technology company building an AI-driven private cloud platform that gives organisations a simpler, lower-cost, and more sovereign alternative to traditional virtualisation and public cloud.

Paul’s career spans senior leadership within global technology companies and hands-on experience building businesses from the ground up. He has held leadership roles at major blue-chip IT organisations and tech startups. He has proven thought leadership and experience in leading cloud, managed services, and digital transformation programmes across Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Having seen first-hand the growing frustration around rising cloud costs, increasing complexity, and eroding control within traditional virtualisation platforms, Paul set out to build something different. VMease exists to help organisations reclaim control of their infrastructure through automation, simplicity, and open technologies, while preserving data sovereignty and operational independence.

Under his leadership, VMease is building strategic partnerships and expanding into the UK, Europe, and Caribbean markets, positioning itself at the forefront of the next generation of private cloud infrastructure.

David Hully - Non-Executive Director, Strategic Advisor in Risk, Insurance & Corporate Governance

David sits on the boards of insurance companies and has worked in international financial services since 1997 with experience encompassing insurance, management consulting, asset management and investment banking. Since 2022, he has been working on various start up ventures and projects including med-tech, film, board-tech, and niche insurance solutions.

He has directed and designed numerous insurance engagements for multi-national clients. David holds an MBA with Distinction and Strategy Concentration from London Business School, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and a BSc in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

How to Enter

Applicants submit:

1.     Short application form including:

  • Company overview
  • Problem you’re solving
  • Your solution & traction
  • The technology you are using
  • Target market & business model
  • Funding ambitions
  • What you are hoping to learn

2.     2-minute pitch video (optional but encouraged)

Judging Criteria

Entries will be assessed on:

  • Strength of the problem & solution
  • Market opportunity
  • Founder/team capability
  • Scalability
  • Investment potential
  • Clarity of vision

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch live to a judging panel.
