The Digital Jersey team have been great at really looking at people within the Digital Jersey network-looking at what their backgrounds are as mentors, and then looking at the mentees. It’s almost, in a way, like being a recruiter in some regard.

At the time I’d just started the Digital Leadership Programme and wasn’t really sure what I was going to do in terms of career development. So doing a bit of mentoring alongside it worked quite well.

I recognise the need for opportunity and real-life experience if you’re keen to get into the industry. The more advice and support you can get from someone, the more chance you have of actually making it.

My goal at the end of it was to show an agency or a company that was looking for someone in social media and say, I’ve done this-I’ve spoken to a specialist in that area.
