Role Overview:

The Innovation Manager is responsible for driving and managing innovation initiatives, primarily focused on the design, funding, and delivery of projects and programmes for Digital Jersey and Impact Jersey. This role involves identifying innovation opportunities, developing proposals to secure funding (such as from the Government of Jersey’s Technology Accelerator Fund), and overseeing the entire lifecycle of Impact Jersey programmes from approval and mobilisation through to successful delivery. The Innovation Manager will work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders to ensure programme objectives are met and contribute to solving some of the Island’s biggest challenges through technology-led solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & programme delivery: Develop and manage all aspects of the project or programme lifecycle for initiatives within Digital Jersey and Impact Jersey.
  • Proposal development & funding: Lead the drafting and development of compelling programme proposals for Impact Jersey to access funding, specifically targeting funding sources such as the Government of Jersey’s Technology Accelerator Fund. This includes defining problems, researching solutions, and outlining delivery methodology.
  • Impact Jersey programme management: Take ownership of running Impact Jersey programmes, managing all steps from initial approval and mobilisation through to full delivery. This includes coordinating with internal departments and external partners, managing stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Research & design: Carry out research to understand market gaps, identify innovation opportunities, and define problems suitable for Impact Jersey programmes. Contribute to the design and testing of programme structures.
  • Stakeholder engagement & communication: Organise workshops and engage with industry, government, and other stakeholders to scope problems and validate programme designs. Build relationships with technology suppliers.
  • Problem solving: Systematically identify and resolve challenges and bottlenecks throughout the programme lifecycle, working collaboratively with internal and external teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence in facilitating workshops and presenting findings.
  • Good attention to detail and computer literacy skills.

Required Qualification & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical, STEM, or interdisciplinary field.
  • Proven experience in planning, managing, and delivering projects through their full lifecycle.
  • Interest in, experience, or knowledge of technological innovation.
