Tech grant launched to boost innovation

Tech entrepreneurs will soon be able to apply for the latest Impact Jersey grant programme.

Officially launching on 7 November, the new programme – CXTech – is the third initiative to be spearheaded through Impact Jersey, which is funded by the government and delivered by Digital Jersey.

Interested innovators will have a nine-week window to submit their ideas for technological solutions aimed at boosting business productivity and improving customer experiences across multiple sectors of the economy. Submissions are due by Wednesday 15 January, after which they will be assessed by a panel of independent judges. Up to £500k in grant funding will be available through the programme.

Digital Jersey chief executive Tony Moretta said: “We are really pleased to be launching our third Impact Jersey programme, which aims to shift the dial across the Island’s visitor and retail economy by using technological innovation to improve customer experience and boost business productivity.

“This is a real opportunity for both local and off-island tech entrepreneurs to play a significant part in transforming customer experiences while combating some of the challenges we are seeing in Jersey, from the increased logistics and freight costs to the fragmented digital interactions encountered when trying to access information”.

Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel added: “Jersey is faced with some significant challenges around its supply chains, workplace retention and changing demographics, and those challenges are putting rising pressure on productivity.

“We know that, if we want to maintain or enhance our standard of living in Jersey, we need to increase our productivity – and this latest Impact Jersey programme provides a really exciting opportunity to achieve that”.
