Annual Review

On the evening of 6th February 2025, at The Freedom Centre, St Helier, we reflected on the key moments of 2024, explored the year ahead, and gained insights from industry experts. The event featured keynote talks from Sir Geoff Mulgan, a leader in innovation and social impact, and Viljar Lubi, Estonian Ambassador to the UK and Chair of Accelerate Estonia. If you weren’t able to join the capacity event, here’s a summary of the main highlights:

Opening Remarks From Tony

Introducing the event, our CEO, Tony Moretta, quoted a number of key successes for the organisation in 2024, including supporting more than 200 Members on their growth journeys, holding funding clinics for 20 businesses through the Springboard initiative, facilitating 16 digital business relocations to Jersey, and training more than 1,500 people through courses, webinars and events.

Driving Innovation, Empowering Growth

From groundbreaking drone trials to cutting-edge agritech, inspiring future innovators and mentoring entrepreneurs, 2024 was a year of big ideas and even bigger impact.

But innovation never stands still. In 2025, we’re keeping the momentum going, exploring how technology can reshape industries, enhance everyday life, and drive our island forward.

Jersey students take on F1 in Schools

Last year, we launched the F1 in Schools initiative alongside Skills Jersey, challenging local students to design, build, and race CO2-powered mini F1 cars over the coming months. This exciting project allows students to step into the roles of engineers, designers, and marketers as they collaborate in teams to bring their miniature F1 cars to life. Our mission goes beyond the race track; we’re fostering the next generation of tech innovators and leaders in a fun, engaging, and competitive environment. This initiative not only sharpens their STEM skills but also enhances their project management and teamwork abilities, preparing them for future challenges in any career path they choose.

Sir Geoff Mulgan

During our annual review, Sir Geoff Mulgan shared his expert insights into the challenges and opportunities we face over the next five years.

A key point from Sir Geoff was the necessity for a supportive ecosystem to foster innovation. While investment in new technologies is essential, creating the right environment with adequate support and incentives is equally crucial for businesses to effectively integrate and leverage these advancements.

H.E. Mr Viljar Lubi interview with Amy Taylor

Our COO, Amy Taylor, and H.E. Mr. Viljar Lubi, the Estonian Ambassador to the UK, discussed Estonia’s advanced digital landscape, where 99% of public services are online. Mr. Lubi highlighted the similarities between Estonia and Jersey, emphasising the potential for Jersey to strengthen its digital services by learning from Estonia’s approach to prioritising local solutions over external dependencies.
