About Sonarcare

Sonarcare is a new venture from an established, technology-led foundry with deep roots in AI, semantic engineering, and regulated industries. We are building an ontology-driven intelligence platform for the healthcare sector – a system that turns fragmented, siloed operational data into a single semantic layer capable of structured reasoning, real-time automation, and decision support across complex regulatory workflows.

The platform sits at the intersection of large language models, knowledge graphs, and real-time workflow automation.

We are still in stealth, we have a clear route to market, a proprietary ontology under active development, and warm demand from over 150 organisations in our target sector as well as from our own care home business which provides a vital opportunity to test it in a real world environment before productising it.

This is not a concept. It is being built now, and we need an exceptional first engineer to help us ship it.

About the Role

We are searching for a Senior Full Stack Developer who can take ownership of major development areas, both architecturally and hands-on. You will work alongside the small technical founding team during initial design and prototyping, then operate autonomously to build, refine, and scale mission-critical features. This is a rare opportunity to help architect a platform that blends AI, structured knowledge, and modern cloud technologies from the ground up.

What You Will Work On

• Build core components of our AI-powered SaaS platform using TypeScript across the stack.
• Develop frontend and backend services with a strong focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Integrate AI models and LLM-based pipelines (LangChain, RAG) into product workflows. – Design and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS or GCP with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Implement secure data flows involving SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Deploy frontend applications to Vercel, managing environments, configuration, and performance. Work closely with founders on technical direction while operating independently day to day.

Core Technologies (this is flexible on the back end)

Frontend: React and Next.js with TypeScript, TanStack Query, modern hooks and state management, Vercel deployment and environment management.

Backend: Node.js with TypeScript, Express.js or similar API frameworks, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, AWS or GCP infrastructure, Terraform or similar IaC.

AI Integration: Experience interfacing with LLMs and related tooling, LangChain or RAG architectures, conceptual understanding of vector databases and prompt engineering.

Nice to Have

• Python for experimentation or prototyping.
• Experience with secure data handling in regulated industries.
• Familiarity with ontologies, taxonomies, or knowledge graph concepts (RDF, OWL, SHACL, schema design, or semantic data modelling).
• Experience building systems that consume structured semantic layers or graph-based APIs.
• Exposure to domain-specific data modelling or standards-driven architectures.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 5 years experience as a full stack developer at senior level or above.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Solid experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proven capability in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Experience consuming or building AI-powered services.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to take ownership of large development areas.
