Excellent opportunity for a CHECK Certified Penetration Testing Team Leader to join a rapidly growing and highly skilled cybersecurity consultancy.

We are looking for an experienced Penetration Testing Team Lead who can actively contribute to the continued expansion of the organisation by leading and developing a small but growing team of penetration testers and providing exceptional hands-on service delivery.

You will have the opportunity to develop future complementary testing services, and support research projects that allow you, and the company, to break new ground in testing. To achieve this, you will have a current CTL certification and be enthusiastic about continuous development. The Opportunity

As Penetration Testing Team Leader, you will support our clients by delivering excellent penetration testing services and cloud security assessments that are ultimately articulated in high quality and valuable reports. You will deliver hands-on technical penetration testing on a variety of projects and guide and direct the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on improving and developing penetration testing methodologies, guiding project scoping and execution activities across the team, and establishing new testing services
  • Delivering high quality infrastructure, applications (including APIs and mobile apps), wireless, segmentation and breakout penetration tests, along with cloud security assessments
  • Working with client teams to research potential vulnerabilities and then plan accordingly
  • Working with clients to research and identify new and emerging attack vectors
  • Conducting vulnerability assessment scanning and unauthorised host discovery exercises
  • Analysing findings and translating them into actionable recommendations
  • Delivering high-quality technical reports, outlining technical and business risk
  • Providing support to clients during on-going incidents
  • Creating and developing tooling, knowledge/threat libraries, methodologies and policies that ensure high quality and informed testing assessments are undertaken
  • Creating and developing internal documentation to ensure our reporting is meaningful
  • Authoring appropriate thought leadership papers, articles, online posts, and marketing materials
  • Providing technical presales support as required
  • Mentoring and coaching and building the technical team to help them grow and develop in their knowledge, skills and careers
  • Identifying and assisting in the development and implementation of business development opportunities
  • In collaboration with senior management actively shape the direction and expansion of the testing services

About You:

  • A tenacious Team Leader with current CHECK Team Leader qualification as a minimum and experience of working at a senior level
  • 6+ years’ demonstrable hands-on penetration testing experience with deep technical knowledge
  • Have mastered a variety of security testing tools
  • Current and relevant technical understanding of technologies, security threats and trends
  • Familiar with relevant bodies and security standards
  • Strong demonstrated ability to take vulnerabilities and articulate the actual business risk along with good reporting writing and client presentation skills
  • Demonstrable experience of developing a technical team to achieve high quality service delivery, including conducting one to one review meetings, appraisals, training plans and career development
  • Professional and likeable personality with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, management and the technical team
  • Able to work on own initiative, proactive and self-motivated
  • Passionate about penetration testing and looking after a team of penetration testers at varying skill levels and seniority
  • Eligible to work in the UK and obtain Government clearance (at least ILR required – visa sponsorship not possible)
