We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in building, scaling, and commercialising advanced data and AI capabilities within a fast-growing, technology-driven organisation.
This is a senior, hands-on role for an individual who combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial judgement and real-world experience operating in startup and scale-up environments. Experience working with current base model providers, their data requirements and the commercial models around data acquisition are fundamental.
The Role
You will be responsible for designing and managing large-scale data assets that power AI-driven products, while ensuring those assets are commercially viable, secure, and compliant with US and Latin America–focused international data regulations. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, commercial, and leadership teams across multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage large-scale AI-ready datasets, including structured and unstructured data.
- Build automated data labeling capabilities
- Lead data pipelines, storage architectures, and analytics platforms capable of handling significant data volumes.
- Drive the commercialisation of data, identifying opportunities for monetisation, licensing, and data-driven products.
- Partner with product and commercial teams to align data strategy with business outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with US and LATAM data protection and privacy regulations, including CCPA/CPRA, state-level US privacy laws, and key Latin American frameworks.
- Establish and maintain data governance, security, and ethical AI frameworks suitable for regulated environments.
- Contribute to blockchain-enabled initiatives, with a focus on token issuance and/or stablecoin issuance.
- Operate effectively in startup and scale-up environments, balancing speed, rigour, and scalability.
Required Experience & Skills
- Significant experience as a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist working with AI and machine learning datasets.
- Proven track record managing and storing large-scale data environments (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, distributed systems).
- Demonstrable experience in commercialising data and supporting revenue-driven products.
- Strong, practical knowledge of US- and LATAM-focused data protection and privacy regulations and their application in real-world systems.
- Experience working in startup and scale-up organisations.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a remote environment.
Preferred / Desirable Experience
- Blockchain and Web3 experience, particularly token issuance and stablecoin issuance.
- Experience with on-chain and off-chain data integration.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as fintech, financial services, or digital assets.
- Exposure to multi-jurisdictional compliance programmes spanning the US and Latin America.
