In 14 months’ time, GDPR will come into force.  It will affect every business in Jersey and the time to start preparations within your business is NOW.

In response to numerous member requests, The Jersey Chamber of Commerce will be holding a half day briefing event designed to provide attendees with an essential overview of GDPR direct from those with expertise in this area.

Speakers:

  • Emma Martins, Data Protection/Information Commissioner for Jersey will open the event, outlining what GDPR involves and the critical timeline between now and May 2018 when it will come into effect.
  • Phil Ruelle, Chief Digital Officer at BDO Ltd, will then discuss the key areas where businesses must act to ensure compliance.  He will seek to provide guests with examples of where current processes may not conform to the new rules and the hefty penalties your business might face if you fail to prepare in time.
  • Sara Johns, Partner in the Corporate and Commercial team at Ogier will join our keynote speakers for a panel discussion.  Sara will provide an overview of GDPR for business from a legal standpoint.

Spaces are limited and we expect demand to be high.  For more information and to book tickets, please click here.
