Local security practitioner, Paul Dutot of CIISF, will run through the step by step approach to incident response and prevention. Some recent experiences of helping organisations in the Channel Islands respond to Cyber incidents will also be included.
The presentation will cover:
• Prepare for a cyber security incident: Getting the fundamentals right, addressing issues relating to people, process, technology and information.
• Cyber Incident Response – Covering identification of a cyber security incident, investigation and remediation of a cyber security incident
• Follow up a cyber security incident: considering your need to investigate the incident more thoroughly and report the incident to the board and or regulator.
• Future Trends – what can we expect in the future in relation to cyber security incidents that are likely to affect local businesses.
The lecture will also look at some low cost technologies that can be used by businesses to demonstrate cyber security compliance and reporting.
Biography: Paul Dutot
Paul is a local computer security consultant working at Logicalis Jersey. Paul specialises in both defensive and offensive security strategies for a wide variety of clients including global brands.
Paul utilises technologies such as Security Information and Event Management systems (SIEM) augmented by his advanced knowledge of threat actors techniques and campaigns to protect clients and minimise their cyber security risk.
Paul is a UK government registered ethical hacker who has been parachuted into a number of cybersecurity incidents locally.
