A deep dive into lessons learnt from the set up of the LifeCycle Data Trust in Jersey and the opportunity to hear about wider data trust market opportunities. We will be joined by Richard Ford senior partner at Pinsent Masons who will give insight on his and Pinsent’s extensive experience on data trusts (including smart city initiatives) and the opportunities he sees for Jersey.

Speakers:

Emma German – Digital Jersey

Emma is a Jersey advocate (non-practising). Emma worked at Carey Olsen specialising in corporate law, finance and digital assets. Emma founded the consultancy Monoceros Innovation and is a Jersey Law Commissioner. She has a particular interest in the reform of Jersey law to support the development of the Jersey fintech industry. Emma is the Digital Jersey in house counsel advising on their world-first Data Trust project, LifeCycle.

Rachel Harker – Digital Jersey

Rachel is a highly experienced applied technologist who has worked on a diverse portfolio of harware+digital development programmes in sectors including agriculture, defence, electronics, FMCG, retail, software, sports and telecoms. Rachel works as a consultant to start-ups and global companies developing innovative technology and products and and advises investors on technology investments. Rachel is a Technology Consultant for Digital Jersey and is the Project Lead for the Lifecycle data trust project.

David Dorgan – JTC Law

David Dorgan has over twenty years of legal experience and has established himself as one of the leading lawyers in Jersey uniquely combining strengths in private client and trusts, corporate and finance work. He has significant specialism in private and commercial trusts and foundations providing technical advice on establishment and on-going administration, tailored for the practical and commercial requirements of clients. David also advised Digital Jersey on The LifeCycle Data Trust.

Richard Ford – Pinsent Masons

Richard is a Partner specialising in UK and International Planning, Environment, Biodiversity, Net Zero, ESG, Energy & Infrastructure, Smart Cities, Data Trusts and Digital Twins, Compulsory Purchase and Highways advice. He leads the Pinsent Masons London and International Planning Projects Practice, operating across the UK and globally.
