The GDPR and the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 201- – Practical Steps for Digital Marketing

Targeted digital marketing is a vital tool for growing businesses, but many are unaware of how new data protection laws could affect their ability to use digital market effectively.

For those that understand the implications, many are not sure what steps to take next to ensure that they are compliant.

This seminar is designed to explain how the GDPR and the new local legislation will affect small digital businesses from a marketing perspective, provide practical steps that can be taken to begin working towards compliance, and to provide the opportunity for you to ask any questions that you have around data protection and digital marketing.

AGENDA

Meet the Regulator

Paul Vane, Deputy Information Commissioner, will open the session with an introduction to the new law and what it means for digital marketing.

Practical implementation

Local Advocate, Davida Blackmore from Callington Chambers, will talk us through some of the practical steps that businesses using digital marketing can take straight away to begin working towards compliance including:

  • Bringing your existing data up to standard so that you can continue using it after May 2018
  • Best practice for capturing and managing data to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Things to consider when collecting and processing data using analytics, automation and profiling tools

Q&A Round-table discussion

We are aware that you will probably have a number of questions following the two presentations and so we will leave a full hour to give you the opportunity to ask Davida and Paul any questions that you have.

Where: Digital Jersey Hub

Please only book if you are confident you can attend. Numbers are strictly limited for this FREE workshop and we want to ensure that those who really need/want to come are able to do so. Thank you.
