There are those who believe that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) appears to be an attack on marketing; to a degree they are correct.

The GDPR does restrict marketing, or to be specific, irresponsible marketing and abuse of personal data, as demonstrated with actions against Cambridge Analytica and Facebook. Marketing professionals need to understand the new regulations and how it impacts marketing; now is the time to be innovative with responsible marketing.

Marc’s information governance journey started in the 1980’s serving the information archival and governance needs of financial and government clients in the Channel Islands.

He subsequently developed the first digital solutions for document and data archival in Europe.

Throughout his career Marc has been closely involved with information governance and quality assurance methodologies together with data management and compliance automation.

Marc is the principal technical and solutions adviser for Salvus and its clients.
