We’re kicking off Season 2 of STEM Racing and we’d love you to be part of it!
Join us on Thursday 19th June 4pm – 5:30pm at the Digital Jersey Hub for the official launch of Season 2 of STEM Racing. This free launch event is for primary and secondary teachers who want to bring hands-on STEM learning into the classroom through an exciting, fast-paced competition.
STEM Racing (formerly F1 in Schools) is an international competition where students design, build and race their own model Formula One cars. Along the way, they’ll also develop teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
There are four competition classes:
Primary Class (ages 9–11) – simple paper card builds
Entry Class (ages 11–14)
Development Class (ages 11–18)
Pro Class (ages 14–18)
Secondary students will use CAD software, test their cars in real-world conditions, and even have the chance to qualify for UK-wide finals. Primary teams will take part in a new regional competition here in Jersey.
This session will give you everything you need to get started:
A full overview of the programme
Details on timelines, kit and how it works
A chance to explore the resources
Support around sponsorship and fundraising
Connections with other teachers
All resources are provided by Digital Jersey and Skills Jersey.
The programme is free to take part in – and we’ll guide you on how to cover any small entry fees via sponsorship.
Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another season, this session is your starting line.
