Digital Jersey Members Collaborate to Launch New Learning Platform

Posted: 27/10/2026

Digital Jersey members SIFS and Michael Butler have collaborated to develop a new Open Access platform, making professional training and CPD management easier for financial services professionals.

We caught up with SIFS to learn more about the collaboration and the impact of the new platform.

Can you tell us a bit about your business and the role you played in developing the new platform?

The School of International Financial Services (SIFS) is a Jersey-based education provider delivering CPD, training and qualifications for professionals across international financial services, with an audience spanning 15 jurisdictions. As Head of Platform, I led the project on the SIFS side, defining what our learners and client firms needed and working with Michael on the design, build and migration.

What challenges or opportunities made you decide it was time to build a new delivery platform?

Our CPD programme and client base had outgrown our previous platform. Firms were increasingly asking for firm-wide access and better visibility of their teams’ CPD, and we wanted a single place for professionals to register for live webinars, access our on-demand library and manage their CPD records.

What were the main improvements you wanted to create for users?

A simpler, more streamlined experience: easy self-enrolment, one-click registration for live sessions, an on-demand library of over 700 webinars, and a personal CPD record with certificates for every session completed. For firms, we introduced L&D Manager reporting, so compliance and L&D teams can see who has registered for and completed each session.

How did the collaboration between both Digital Jersey members come together?

Working with Michael, a fellow Digital Jersey member, meant we could build the platform locally with someone who understood what we were trying to achieve from the outset. Being able to sit down together, iterate quickly and test ideas with our users made a real difference to both the pace and the quality of the build.

What has the response been like since launching the platform?

The response has been really positive. Since launch we’ve seen strong growth in firm-wide subscriptions across Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man and further afield, and users have told us the platform is much easier to navigate.

What can users look forward to next?

Since launch we’ve added features such as Business Manager access, allowing L&D teams to give line managers visibility of their own team’s CPD. Looking ahead to 2027, we’re working on further enhancements to reporting and on linking non-employee users, such as directors, to their organisation’s account.

What has been the biggest learning curve or takeaway from the project so far?

The value of building alongside our users. Much of the roadmap has been shaped directly by feedback from the firms using the platform day to day.

How did it feel seeing the platform go live after working on it together?

It was a proud moment for everyone involved, and a great example of what can be achieved through collaboration within the Digital Jersey community.
