Digital Jersey is delighted to announce that Carla Harris has joined the organisation as Operations Director.
Key responsibilities in this new role include developing the Hub, Digital Jersey’s exciting new location for co—working, skills development and meet–ups, establishing Digital Jersey’s critically important skills development programme and launching new membership and sponsorship programmes.
Carla’s previous roles include Communications Manager for Jersey Finance Limited and Project Manager for the States of Jersey Economic Development Department leading initiatives relating to education, skills and training in Jersey. While at the States of Jersey, Carla was responsible for the launch of the Jersey Undergraduate Internship programme and the Jersey Enterprise Awards.
Prior to joining as Director, Carla worked as a project manager for Digital Jersey, coordinating the successful launch of the Coding Programme, an innovative six month vocational course targeted at meeting the needs of the digital sector. The syllabus was developed in collaboration with industry to develop the skills necessary for entry-level roles. The course for the first cohort of 14 students involves a mixture of classroom-based activity, commercial projects, self-taught study and 1:1 support from mentors within the digital sector.
