Digital Jersey and industry experts team up today to run a mini school roadshow for year 10 students at De La Salle College. The key focus of the event will be to promote entrepreneurial skills, innovation and explain the variety of careers available in the digital sector.

The aim of the roadshow is to inspire and educate young, local talent on the importance of technology in any career transition and highlight the great opportunities available within the digital sector.

Students will have the chance to hear from local digital entrepreneurs regarding their experiences within the industry and the many career opportunities currently available to them now and in the future. The digital experts will each run a short session covering specific information that will provide more detail and clarity on topics such as Bitcoin, start-ups and the importance of technology. Each session will end with a Q&A.

Justin McCarthy, Assistant Headmaster at De la Salle College commented:

"It is very important to us to offer students real life examples of real world skills and the types of job roles that could be available to them within the digital industry. We are delighted that Digital Jersey and industry are sharing their skills, knowledge and expertise with our students today.”

Rob Dudley, CTO and Co-founder of Race Nation commented:

"Children in secondary education represent the current generation of technology workers and they are all in the process of developing, creating and innovating, everyday. As local professionals, anything we can do to aid, steer and assist them on this journey is of benefit, both to the young minds of our local schools but, perhaps more importantly, to the industry as a whole. The roadshow will be a great chance to help cement the foundations of Jersey's technical skill set for the next 5 – 10 years."
