Meet Optifi, a Jersey-founded business building a connected operating platform for Trust & Corporate Services. We bring technology, operational administration and continuous change together in one accountable operating model.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Optifi

I’m Alain Egre, co-founder and COO at Optifi. I work across operations, product, partnerships and client delivery, helping turn complex operating challenges into practical, measurable change. We are building more than software: a connected operating model that brings technology, operational administration and continuous change together, so trust and corporate services firms can scale with stronger controls and without simply adding complexity.

For anyone who hasn’t come across Optifi before, what does the platform do?

The Optifi platform connects client and entity data, workflows, approvals, evidence and client engagement, making work visible, controlled and easier to improve. We have created one single source of truth for your business, which also adds value for your clients through our white-labelled client portal. Our aim is to lower your cost to serve, whilst creating more capacity in your team, and stronger controls so you can achieve scalable growth.

What inspired the creation of Optifi?

In our previous roles, our leadership team often saw the same pattern playing out. Trust companies, who are working hard to create a fantastic experience for their clients are often relying on fragmented suppliers, disconnected systems and manual hand-offs to run complex regulated work. We could see that one connected operating model that allowed the business to link technology, administration and continuous change, could be a game changer.

What are some of the biggest operational challenges facing trust and corporate services firms today?

The sector is caught between rising client expectations, regulatory scrutiny, constrained pricing and a lack of good data. Because of this lack of easily accessible, reliable data they often find it hard to see where they can improve productivity and best allocate team capacity whilst still protecting good governance.

How does Optifi help firms work more efficiently and scale safely?

The Optifi platform combines digital workflows, automation and operational insight to standardise repeatable work, route tasks and approvals, capture evidence as it happens and bring the right information together. This means that the teams can focus on exceptions, judgement and building great client relationships. This also reduces cost and rework, strengthens control and gives leaders a live view of capacity, risk and where the next improvement should be made.

What role does automation and AI play within the platform?

Automation can manage the repeatable parts of a process: routing work, managing approvals, applying rules and maintaining an audit trail. Our “Ask Optifi” AI can help teams prepare, find and interpret information, and identify exceptions faster. However, it is important to us that this is safe, so it’s embedded within governed operational processes where it is permission-aware, secure, auditable and always has a human-in-the-loop. The aim is to make expert teams more effective, not remove their accountability.

What milestones or client outcomes are you especially proud of?

Early clients are already seeing real measurable value. A regulated-services client has validated a 12% capacity improvement at board level after deploying our workflow solution over their legacy technology. In a separate compliance-monitoring programme, workflow orchestration has delivered an 85% reduction in compliance monitoring points. We have also been shortlisted for the Digital Jersey Tech Awards Productivity Award and we are very proud to be included on the shortlist, less than a year after launching.

What made you join Digital Jersey, and what have you enjoyed most about being a member?

Jersey is the natural home for Optifi because of its sophisticated trust and private-wealth market, strong regulation and an ambitious technology community. Digital Jersey helps us stay close to founders, partners and innovators from the island, and its community has been particularly valuable as we scale the business.

What are your goals for Optifi over the next 12 months?

Over the next 12 months, our focus is to keep iterating our platform and operating capability to make a more integrated, accountable model repeatable for Trust & Corporate Services. That means growing our shared services across client and entity management, payments, accounting, compliance, data and operational insight as well as expanding our specialist partner ecosystem; and continuing to embed AI within governed processes.

Above all, we want to keep showing that lower cost, stronger controls and scalable growth can be delivered together. And we’re putting our money where our mouth is because our commercial model is built around outcomes rather than software seats – we only succeed when our clients do.
