Vaiie is a leading RegTech SaaS company based in Jersey, Channel Islands. We help regulated financial services firms simplify and secure their client onboarding through Vaiie Onboard, our digital onboarding and identity verification platform trusted by regulated firms across the Channel Islands and beyond.

Following our management buyout, we’re entering an exciting period of growth as we expand across the Channel Islands and into other International Financial Centres. We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead our sales activity, drive new business acquisition and help shape Vaiie’s commercial success.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing our business development strategy, building a strong pipeline of opportunities and converting prospects into long-term customers. You’ll also manage and mentor our Business Development Executive, ensuring the commercial team operates efficiently and delivers against ambitious growth targets.

This is a highly visible leadership role suited to someone who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to business development. You’ll be comfortable engaging with C-suite executives, building trusted relationships and representing Vaiie across the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Vaiie’s business development strategy in line with company growth objectives
  • Build, manage and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across target markets
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and close
  • Personally conduct client meetings, product demonstrations and commercial presentations
  • Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers across trust companies, corporate service providers, funds, family offices, legal firms and other regulated businesses
  • Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships and routes to market
  • Manage, coach and develop the Business Development Executive, ensuring high standards of performance and professional development
  • Work closely with the CEO to refine commercial strategy, sales messaging and market positioning
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing and Customer Success teams to ensure a seamless customer journey
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting and CRM data
  • Represent Vaiie at industry conferences, networking events and client functions
  • Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, pricing discussions and contract negotiations
  • Continuously review and improve sales processes, tools and commercial effectiveness

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:

  •  5+ years’ experience in business development, enterprise sales or commercial leadership within SaaS, technology or professional services
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and winning new business
  • Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Commercially astute with strong strategic planning abilities
  • Highly organised with excellent forecasting and pipeline management skills
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Outstanding communication skills with confidence presenting to board-level executives
  • A proactive, resilient and results-oriented approach

Desirable:

  • Experience selling SaaS solutions into financial services, RegTech or FinTech markets
  • Knowledge of KYC, AML, onboarding or compliance technology
  • Understanding of offshore financial centres including Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman Islands or the Isle of Man
  • Existing network within the Channel Islands financial services sector
  • Experience working within a high-growth technology business
  • Familiarity with Hubspot and modern sales engagement platforms
