This event is designed for anyone interested in understanding how coding (Python) can be learned and applied in practical, everyday contexts.

We will be presenting how Jersey based individuals and companies are using Python to generate new businesses, create innovative applications, automate processes, and understand their data to make informed decisions. Far from the AI hype, we will show you practical examples demonstrating how a basic understanding of coding sparks innovation and boosts productivity, including individuals who never coded before.

What to expect
Networking and an informal opportunity to meet others who are interested in learning new skills and exploring how technology can be used more effectively.

Welcome and context
An introduction from Digital Jersey on why digital and coding skills are increasingly valuable across roles, sectors and career stages.

Discussion and Q&A
A structured conversation covering:

• Why coding remains relevant in an AI-enabled world
• How coding supports problem solving and efficiency in everyday roles
• Why Python is widely used as an entry point to programming
• What learners typically gain from structured coding courses

Project demonstrations
Some of our past participants will show off the projects they have built from scratch. For many, tech used to feel like a black box something that just happens to you. After the course, you understand why things work. This digital literacy means you’re no longer intimidated by new software; you gain the confidence to say, “I can make this tool work for me”

Launch of the global learning opportunity
