Clearway Operations launches to cut operational friction

Posted: 21/04/2026

Clearway Operations has launched to help businesses reduce friction, improve performance and rely less on constant founder involvement.

Clearway Operations has launched in Jersey to support businesses that are becoming harder to run as they grow, take on more work, or increase in complexity. Founded by Kelly Stafford, Clearway Operations helps businesses build stronger operational foundations so they can work more efficiently, improve performance and rely less on constant founder involvement. The result is less wasted time and rework, with founders and leadership teams able to focus more on growth, strategy and the areas where they add the most value. Many businesses reach a stage where demand is there, but results are held back by what is happening behind the scenes. Leads are not followed up consistently, projects take more effort than they should and teams rely on a small number of people to keep things moving. Over time, this puts pressure on margins, limits capacity and makes progress harder than it should be. Clearway Operations works by identifying the points where friction is affecting performance and putting practical improvements in place. This can include strengthening how work is won, handed over, delivered and managed, alongside creating clearer ownership and more effective internal ways of working. Kelly Stafford, Founder of Clearway Operations, said: “A lot of businesses do not struggle because of a lack of demand. They struggle because the way the business runs has not kept pace with what is needed. That is when you start to see time being wasted, margins being squeezed, and founders and leadership getting pulled back into the day to day. The biggest impact usually comes from fixing those underlying issues so the business can run more smoothly and more predictably.” Clearway Operations supports businesses across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on professional service firms, where internal coordination, delivery and operational clarity have a direct impact on performance. The business offers support ranging from focused projects to remove a specific bottleneck through to longer-term operational support for businesses looking to improve how they run more broadly. In each case, the aim is to leave the business in a stronger position, with clearer workflows, better visibility and less reliance on individuals to hold everything together. Kelly added: “Good operations should not feel heavy or overcomplicated. When things are set up properly, the business runs with less friction, teams have more clarity, and there is more capacity without immediately needing to hire. I am a big believer in keeping things lean — not adding tools, layers or processes for the sake of it, but putting in place the structure a business genuinely needs to run well.” Clearway Operations is now working with businesses looking to improve efficiency, strengthen performance and build more sustainable ways of operating.
