Digital Jersey invites members of Jersey’s digital, finance and FinTech sectors to attend the NewFinance FinTech Open Mic Night – Blockchain Finance at the Hub on 28th April.
The meeting will provide Islanders with the opportunity to gain insights into Blockchain, a distributed ledger technology that could transform the way the industry operates by enabling efficient interaction, reporting and trading between financial institutions across the globe.
The event will include keynote presentations and a panel session from world leading experts in Blockchain technology including:
James Carlyle, Chief Engineer at R3CEV – James will talk about the latest developments from R3CEV, a consortium of the world’s largest banks looking to develop and eventually adopt Blockchain. R3CEV’s goal of creating a Blockchain standard for banks that provides a revolutionary, faster, cheaper and simpler method for transactions could soon become a reality. Last month the company successfully trialed 5 distinct technologies for the very first time, proving their theory that banks can use Blockchain as part of their day to day operations.
Miguel Neumann, Co-Founder and COO of DXMarkets – Miguel will explore how DXMarkets is working alongside financial institutions to create custom Blockchain solutions to embed the technology into their financial processes, increasing efficiencies and reducing costs.
Justin Hunt of The Bitcoin & Blockchain Leadership Forum – The Bitcoin and Blockchain Leadership Forum is a globally recognised organisation that aims to increase society’s understanding of the impact of Bitcoin technology. Justin will discuss the global impact of Blockchain trends in the context of the finance industry.
Genevieve Leveille, Founder and CEO of KrypC – Genevieve will discuss how her company KrpC – a FinTech service provider focusing on Blockchain solutions – is building technologies that will make it much easier for businesses to connect to the Blockchain network.
