Digital Jersey is delighted to announce that Andrew Jarrett will be joining the organisation as a Director. In this new role he will be responsible for establishing and securing business development opportunities, as well as supporting on-island business growth, key off-island relationships and exploring new markets.
In his previous role as Chief Commercial Officer at Foreshore Mr. Jarrett was responsible for creating business models suitable for ‘offshoring’, leading to several of the UK top ten retailers becoming clients. He also worked closely with the Financial Services Commission to facilitate inter-jurisdictional cooperation in the event of a disaster, to enable financial services businesses from other jurisdictions to operate from Jersey for Business Continuity. Andrew also opened up markets in the Caribbean, Middle East and Asia in the area of disaster recovery and managed services and developed a significant international, intermediary network. He was also responsible for developing and implementing the first offshore online data backup service in the Channel Islands, as well as a range of cloud services to provide IT infrastructure as a service, applications on demand and desktop computing.
Paul Masterton, Chairman of Digital Jersey, commented:
“I am delighted that Andrew will be joining our team. His excellent business development skills and contacts will strengthen Digital Jersey and increase our ability to support growth in the sector, both locally and through inward investment opportunities. I’m confident Andrew will make an immediate impact and be a major contributor to the objectives set out in our 2014 Business Plan.”
Andrew Jarrett commented:
“I feel very strongly about the work of Digital Jersey and the potential that the organisation has to benefit the economy. I am looking forward to joining the team and working alongside industry to create new opportunities for Jersey.”
