With an ever-increasing focus on delivering exceptional customer experience, Channel Island businesses are turning their attention to Customer Relationship Management solutions, such as Salesforce.

Comnexa have been able to respond and grow their local team with support from the Digital Jersey Academy.

In an effort to grow his existing skillset, Axel Staal undertook Digital Jersey’s Coding & Web Technology course, which he completed in December of last year. As a Digital Jersey member, Comnexa discovered Axel’s talent and offered him a role as a Business Solutions Consultant. Having completed a comprehensive Salesforce training programme and in-house training, In July, Axel successfully became a certified Salesforce Administrator.

“After working in the finance sector for eight years, I wanted to diversify my skills and find new opportunities. I joined the Digital Jersey Coding course to develop my programming knowledge and to gain a better understanding of the technology and systems behind Jersey’s big industries, like those used in finance. The course was hugely eye-opening to the many career paths within the digital world. After six months of further development, I’m now working with Financial Services clients to implement their vision using Salesforce, and I feel my previous experience helps me add genuine value for our customers.”

Axel is now working to become an Einstien Analytics and Discovery Consultant, one of just a few in the UK, and is set to become the first with this certification in the Channel Islands.

Richard Van Neste also joins Comnexa along with Axel. Moving back to Jersey from the UK, Richard brings with him extensive third-sector experience as a Salesforce Administrator.

These two local appointments highlight the positive access of local digital talent within Jersey.

Rory Steel, Head of Digital Jersey Academy said: “At the Digital Jersey Academy, we know that Jersey doesn’t have a skills gap, we have a training gap. Many of our talented Coding & Web Technology course students have demonstrated that by either enhancing their own digital skills, or completely changed careers into the digital sector. We hope to see a steady flow of talented individuals into the digital economy through our wide variety of courses”.
