Meet TechAwards Head Judge Geraldine Evans

Posted: 01/05/2026

As we build towards the 8th Annual Jersey TechAwards, we’re excited to welcome Geraldine Evans as our Head Judge for 2026.

The TechAwards are our biggest celebration of Jersey’s digital sector. Each year, we bring together our community to recognise the people and companies driving real change across the island. With nominations now closed and the shortlist set to be announced at the end of May, the focus turns to the judging process and the stories behind this year’s entries.

Geraldine brings strong experience in digital transformation, learning and leadership. As Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Prosperity 24/7, she has helped organisations build confidence with technology and create lasting change. She also knows the TechAwards first-hand, having been recognised as a previous Leadership Award winner.

In this Q&A, Geraldine shares what first drew her into the digital sector, the experiences that have shaped how she leads, and what she’ll be looking for from this year’s submissions. She also reflects on the strength of Jersey’s digital community and the role we all play in supporting its growth.

As we head towards the awards ceremony on Friday 16 October 2026 at the Royal Jersey Showground, her insights give a clear view of what strong, meaningful innovation looks like and why it matters.

What first sparked your interest in the digital sector, and what has kept you motivated throughout your career?

My interest in the technology and digital sector began when I realised how often companies hesitated to adopt new technology, not because the tools weren’t right, but because people didn’t feel confident using them. That gap between possibility and capability fascinated me. I saw early on that digital transformation isn’t only about systems but it’s about people, learning, and culture.

What has kept me motivated is seeing the impact when someone moves from feeling intimidated by technology to feeling empowered by it. Helping clients unlock that confidence,  whether through learning programmes, change initiatives or AI adoption, is incredibly rewarding. The pace of change in our sector also keeps me energised.  Every year there’s something new to learn, challenge or rethink and curiosity has been a constant driver for me.

Looking back on your professional journey, what experience has most shaped the way you lead and make decisions today?

The experience that shaped me most was building Prosperity 24/7 with Chris Clark from the ground up. When you’re growing a business, you quickly learn that leadership is about listening , staying adaptable and bringing people with you through change. You also see firsthand the value of investing in learning cultures and supporting people at every level to grow their skills and confidence.

Working across sectors, from public services to financial services to community initiatives has also shaped my decision‑making. It taught me that meaningful technological progress depends on empathy, inclusion and the ability to translate complexity into clarity. Those lessons guide me today in how I lead, how I evaluate opportunities and how I support others to succeed.

As Head Judge of this year’s Jersey TechAwards, what will you be looking for in submissions that truly stand out?

For me, standout submissions are those that combine innovation with real‑world impact. I’ll be looking for:

  • A clear problem and a meaningful solution, not technology for technology’s sake.
  • Evidence of positive impact on people, companies or the wider community.
  • Courage and curiosity, showing a willingness to challenge old ways of working.
  • Inclusivity and culture, how teams bring people with them on the journey of change and innovation
  • Sustainability and scalability, whether the work has lasting value.

Most importantly, I am excited to see the story behind the innovation, what was the challenges faced, the breakthroughs achieved and the difference it made.

How would you describe the current state of Jersey’s digital sector, and where do you see the biggest opportunities for growth?

Jersey’s digital sector is vibrant, ambitious and increasingly diverse. We’re seeing innovation across AI, fintech, digital public services, and creative technologies, alongside a growing ecosystem of start-ups and scale-ups. The sector’s strength lies in its agility and close‑knit community which allows for fast collaboration and knowledge‑sharing.

Looking ahead, the biggest opportunities include:

  • AI‑enabled productivity and upskilling across all sectors.
  • Digital public services that make island life easier and more accessible.
  • STEM pathways and talent development, particularly supporting women and young people entering the sector.
  • Sectors like finance, health, and transport, where digital solutions can drive major improvements.
  • Ethical and responsible AI, where Jersey can lead by example.

With the right support structures, Jersey can position itself as a leader in digital capability and innovation.

What role do you believe Digital Jersey plays in supporting innovation and strengthening the island’s digital economy?

Digital Jersey is a hub for innovation. It brings industry, government and education together, creating the conditions for collaboration, experimentation and growth. Through initiatives such as sector specific events, upskilling, research and the annual Tech Awards, Digital Jersey helps spotlight success stories, nurture new talent and encourage companies to think bigger and adopt new technologies.

Its role is not just promoting digital adoption but ensuring Jersey’s digital sector is future‑ready.  From infrastructure and skills development to fostering a community that embraces curiosity, inclusion and ambition. That ecosystem is what enables innovators to thrive and keeps Jersey competitive on a global stage.
