Join us for Jersey Techweek 2018

We’re delighted to invite attendees to Jersey TechWeek, which will be full of exciting and innovative tech events running from 13th to 19th October to showcase and celebrate the best of tech whilst providing networking, learning, business and social opportunities.

Kicking off the week will be a two-day creative IoT marathon, sponsored by JT, where participants of all skill levels are invited to develop their IoT-related ideas and pitch to a respected industry panel, event concludes with a prizegiving ceremony.



Following this we have a series of interesting and informative tech days headed up by expert speakers.

Monday’s focus stays with IoT with an exciting session which will coincide with the official opening of DJX – Jersey’s very first IoT Hub. Speakers and participants will examine how technology will increasingly disrupt our daily lives, from transport to retail and smart homes to security online.

Tuesday’s Digital Health Day, sponsored by TSG and Zuri, will look at current trends in the sector and a range of speakers will discuss how Jersey is the ideal testbed to trial new products.



Fintech is the subject of Wednesday’s Tech day, sponsored by Carey Olsen, which will explore the three b’s – biometrics, blockchains and bots.



A key feature of the event, is the inaugural Jersey TechAwards, in association with BCS Jersey and sponsored by Prosperity 24-7, taking place on Thursday and providing an inspirational evening showcasing the very best in digital talent, creativity and entrepreneurship.



The celebratory week of all things tech, is rounded off with the Jersey Skills Show, where Digital Jersey representatives will be joined by a number of key industry representatives meeting students, discussing the opportunities available in the digital sector and encouraging youngsters to consider a career in tech.

A key feature of the Jersey Techweek event will be the inaugural Jersey TechAwards organised in association with BCS. The awards take place on Thursday 18th October with a choice of eight different categories to enter.

Award categories
Digital company of the year

This award will go to the organisation that the judges consider to be the leading light among entries for the category.

Best use of technology in education

The potential entrants for this award are wide and varied, because any use of technology in an educational environment is eligible for nomination.

Technology project of the year

This award will go to what the judges consider to be the most impressive technology project of the year.

Technology student of the year

The Technology Student of the Year could be anyone who is studying a technology subject: a school pupil, a college/university student, a non-techie re-skilling into a tech subject, even someone technical who is extending their knowledge in an exciting way.

Technology teacher of the year

This award will go to the person who has made the most significant contribution this year to technology teaching in Jersey.

Digital start-up of the year

The Digital Start-Up of the Year will be a technology-oriented organisation that has existed for only a short time but which, despite its relative youth, demonstrates success so far and promise for the future.

Digital creative project of the year

The winner of Digital Creative Project of the Year will go to an organisation who has used technology in and innovative and creative way, whether it’s a new system for the company or a campaign.

Digital growth business of the year

The winner in this category will be technology oriented, will have grown significantly and quickly, and will convince the judges that it is destined to continue to grow.

Digital leader of the year

This award is for the person who has shown the greatest, most effective leadership in a technological sense.

Digital team of the year

The winners of this award will be the team that have most impressed the judges with their abilities in the field of technology.
