Scandinavian cyber expert Teijo Peltoniemi has joined KPMG in the Channel Islands as a Senior Manager in the Advisory team.
Mr Peltoniemi comes to the Channel Islands from Helsinki, Finland, where he worked for the KPMG firm that has the largest Scandinavian digital cyber team across the Big 4. His vast knowledge will strengthen the offering in digital advisory for KPMG in the Channel Islands with a concentration on cyber security services.
Mr Peltoniemi has a proven track record managing high performing teams in the cyber and digital sphere. He was instrumental in the design of a programme for the Finnish government to facilitate the development of digital services for citizens and has previously designed a security governance model for a global telecoms business. At KPMG in Finland he was head of Enterprise Architecture Services and a prominent speaker and published writer. In his new pan-island role his wealth of global experience will be a key benefit to existing and new clients. He will lead engagements on digitalisation and offer cyber and digital advisory services to local businesses.
He has re-located to Jersey with his wife and two children. In his spare time he likes music and literature and spending time with his family. He hopes to find a local football team so his oldest son can pursue his favourite hobby.
Robert Kirkby, Executive Director, KPMG in the Channel Islands, says:
‘We are very fortunate to have attracted Teijo to work with us in the Channel Islands. He has taken on a pan-island role so his in-depth expertise and knowledge can be shared with our clients in both Jersey and Guernsey. He will enable us to offer our clients a greater breadth of expertise in key areas of rapid development such as cyber security and I believe he will also be a key spokesperson for the Islands on digital and cyber issues.’
