Local technologist, Ronnie Isherwood has been elected to BCS Council to represent international membership and offer advice to the Trustee Board on the direction and strategy of the Chartered Institute for IT.

As well as Crown Dependencies the International sections include, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Middle East, USA, Canada, Sri Lanka, Malta, Mauritius & Hellenic

The role includes upholding the Royal Charter and challenging any acts or omission against BCS, its values, ethos and charitable objectives. The council also elects the senior volunteers including the President, Deputy Presidents and members of the Trustee Board.

BCS and its subsidiary learning and development company is responsible for industry and academic qualifications ranging from market leading business analysis to computer science degrees. There are approximately 70,000 members and an annual income of more than £30 million pounds.

Ronnie is a founder of JE3.COM and a full-time technology and information security consultant. He is the founder many of the islands innovative events including creating the Techfair and the OpenROV citizen science competition for schools.

He is the form Chair of BCS Jersey whom he continues to support as well as working with Jersey Chamber, Digital Jersey and the Data Protection Association with a single vision, raising the bar for Jersey technology industry.
